An ambitious project to prepare the City Development Plan for all the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Madhya Pradesh was
taken up by Urban Administration & Development Department, GoMP. The aim of this exercise is to support Urban Local Bodies
of Madhya Pradesh in preparing the City Development Plan (CDP). The CDP should provide a comprehensive
medium term strategy (Vision 2035) as well as a City Investment Plan (CIP), based on which the concerned ULB will be able to access
funds under GoI/GoMP schemes as well as from own and other sources based on priority actions and projects identified in the CDP.
The document should also provide Financial Operating Plan (FOP) to direct the ULBs for mobilising various financial resources to
implement the identified projects.
In the first phase CDPs of 96 Municipal Council & Holy Cities was prepared. The complete process was monitored at the state level
with the support of ULBs to prepare a Comprehensive Document. The project is also appreciated by MoUD,GoI and has also been
document as a Best Practice publsihed in "Glimpses of Reforms Implementation". The CDPs will provide a strategic framework for
converging and co-ordinating various department towards positioning the city on a development path.
